Psapp

Do you know Grey's Anatomy? Well, is one of my favorite Tv series.
Since the first episode I fell in love with the title song "Cosy in the Rocket" by Psapp.

Psapp are an experimental electronica band, formed by Galia Durant, English polyhedral artist, and Carim Classman, German musician.
The peculiarity of the band is that they realize their songs with many different sounds using children's xylophones, rubber dolls, mechanical ashtrays in addition to traditional music instruments.
The music of Psapp can be defined toytronica.
Galia Durant draw every CD cover and, with Classman, designs all the sets of their concerts. They are all-round artists! Galia in particular has a website in which you can buy her works: GaliaDurant

From their second album "Tiger, My Friend" (2004), famous for "Cosy in the Rocket", I would like to show you a couple of songs that I really love: "Rear Moth" and "Leaving in Coffins".

Psapp's first album is titled "Northdown", but it's actually an EP, published only in Japan. It contains seven tracks, four will be released worldwide in subsequent Album or EP.
"Curuncula" published in "Tiger, my Friend" (2004)
"Side Dish" and "Dirt is Falling" in "Early Cats and tracks" EP (2006)
"Happy Lamb" in "Early Cats and Tracks, vol.2" (2009)

Trivia: during live performances, Psapp usually throw on people some homemade rag cats!
They love cats and they say that their music appeals to cats... True story! I have two and they are always intrigued by Psapp music!

In recent years, Psapp publish two albums "The Only Thing I Ever Wanted (2006) and "The Camel's Back" (2009). From "Camel's Back" I choose to make you hear "Monster Song", sad, wistful and melancholic song, the sound that I like then.

The Psapp production is represented by six EP, as well as three studio album, released between 2003 and 2009. The last is "Early Cats and Tracks, vol.2" (2009).

I wish you a good afternoon with a song that I love: "Always in my Head" from the Ep "Early Cats and Tracks", song listened on Tv series Nip/Tuck and Grey's Anatomy.
This piece really has style, Galia's voice is sad, elusive, elegant and clear, love it!

Thank you!
Bye!

Seether Vs George Michael

"Careless Whisper" is the debut solo single by George Michael released in 1984, even in U.S. was published as Wham! feat. George Michael. It's a intense, sweet and melancholic ballad. George's voice is very beautiful and espressive.
Today I want to wish you a very good day with a cover of this song, released in 2009 by a South-African post-grunge band: Seether.
Seether is active since 1999 and their frontman, Shaun Morgan, has a really great personality. The sound of the band is strong and full-bodied and Shaun has a great voice.

Unfortunately, the band is not very famous in Italy, but I really like their songs.
I love "Broken" featuring Amy Lee (Evanescence), single released in 2004 and "Country Song" (2011) , that is part of the album "holding onto Strings Better Left to Fray". I want to share with you the live version, really nice!

See you soon!

Go Your Own Way

"Go Your Own Way is a single by Fleetwood Mac, released in 1976, written by Lindasy Buckingham, guitarist of the band, and is part of the album "Rumours" (1977) which contains also "Don't Stop" and "Dreams", written by fantastic Stevie Nicks, brought to shine by the band Corrs in the cover of 1998.
The band is legendary, definitely I'll write about them in more depth, but right now I want to share with you a cover of "Go Your Own Way" performed by Cranberries, with the sharp voice of their front-woman, the  etereal&strong Dolores O'Riordan.
... in fact... I would like to share two videos showing the performance of this song. The first, during a concert in Paris, the second shows Dolores performs "Go Your Own Way" in acoustic version, sung in a French radio.
Enjoy!

Daughtry

"And it feels like tonight.
I can't believe I'm broken inside.
Can't you see that there's nothing that I wanna do,
But try to make it up to you?
And it feels like tonight,
tonight"

Daughtry's here! "Feels Like Tonight" was released in 2008 but in Italy is  famous only because was the soundtrack of some commercials and promotion of TV series "Brothers & Sisters".

Chris Daughtry is "son" of the U.S. talent show American Idol, in wich he participated, but not won, in 2006.
He lends its name to the band, that it bears the name of "Daughtry". The genre is rock, but not too edgy, at times is hard and melodious, sweet but strong. Chris Daughtry's voice is powerful and particularly beautiful.
The first album is a succession of masterpieces, from the first single "It's Not Over" to the ballad "Home", from "Breakdown" to the poignant "What About Now". In this album we can listen to a song written by Chris and played by former Guns N'Roses guitarist Slash! Here "What I Want" for you!

The second album was released in 2009, the title is "Leave This Town" and contains another set of stunning songs. The single that promote the release of the album is "No Suprise", in my opinion less compelling song compared to other. Personally I was excited about songs like "September", Ghost of Me", "What I Meant to Say" and  the beautiful "Tennessee Line", a clever mix of guitar, voice and moods that really remind to a railroad, a train, a journey to be undertaken. The style is very country and the reason is in collaboration with Vince Gill, famous American singer-songwriter, winner of 20 Grammy Awards.

"On my way to L.A. looking into the rearview as the roads fade away
I've sword off my past, first to last bad call that I ever made
Tell me how to make right every wrong turn that I've learned
So this can all end tonight
Tennessee line just change my mind, well it's my heartI'll follow this time"

In Italy, new Daughtry's album "Break the Spell", was released in november 2011.
It's another wonderful work! "Crawling Back to You" is beautiful, I definitely love "Break the Spell", "Crazy", "Renegade" and the energy of "Outta my Head".
Great job Chris!

Bush

I don’t want to talk about politics, but I mean to talk about alternative rock band Bush, formed in London, active from 1992 until 2002, then disbanded, and reformed in 2010. In this year Bush publish “The Sea of Memories”, beautiful album promoted by the single “The Sound of Winter”.
The song starts with Gavin Rossdale biting voice, in an electrifyng crescendo...

"Mind strong
Body strong
Try to find equilibrium
Head straight, screwed on
Been screwed up for too long..."

Their return to music scene is really important, at least for me, I’ve listened to their songs since “Everything Zen”, single of 1993, chosen to represent their debut album “Sixteen Stone, released in early 1994.
The band has racked up successes in following years with “Swallowed”, single of 1996, then with “The Chemicals Between Us” from album “The Science of Things” (1999) and “Letting the Cables Sleep”. This song is sad, but stunning and strong and the voice of Gavin is unique.

There would be many things to talk about the band, as well on the solo career of Gavin Rossdale, but I want to summarize in these few lines what, for me, is the essence of the band.
Thank you! Bye!

Jojo - Introducing myself

I'm curious, stubborn and a little bit moody.
I spend my life trying to do something good, but not always succeed.
I love music, animals, my boyfriend and people sensitive and sincere (not necessarily in that order...)

This blog is the translation of the original, which is in Italian: PassioneSuono
I apologize since now because I will make so many mistakes writing in English, I hope you will forgive me.

I have to translate about 40 posts from my italian blog, so I will take time to translate it all.
